Michael Hirst first became interested in photography after purchasing the Canon 350D, this helped to ignite his passion for the outdoors and while living in Cornwall he began exploring the dramatic coastline and rich heritage in his local area.

In September 2009 Michael began a degree in Wildlife and Environmental Photography at Blackpool and the Fylde College. Here he began exploring the diversity of wildlife that lives in the UK and also the history of art and design.
